White Bean, Asparagus, & Mushroom Cassoulet

White bean, asparagus, and mushroom cassoulet, and a garden salad.  I’m not sure exactly what it is and how you pronounce it, but it was a unique mix of flavors and textures.  I also got to use the spice majoram for the first time.  Using new spices is always exciting.  I had burnt the bread crumbs on top though giving the whole dish a slightly burnt flavor.  Aya liked this one a lot more than I did.

Shrimp Cobb Salad

Shrimp cobb salad, and chicken and white bean soup. My shrimp didn’t look as good as the one on the recipe, but it did taste pretty good. The surprising one was the chicken and white bean soup. DANG! That stuff was awesome.

Chicken Tamale Casserole

Chicken tamale casserole and a garden salad.  For a casserole, this was pretty awesome.  I accidentally used double the amount of cheese, so maybe that had something to do with it.  It’s a nice lazy Saturday dish.

Sauteed Sole w/ Browned Butter & Capers

Sauteed sole with browned butter and capers, mashed sweet potatoes, and roasted broccoli.  Can’t go wrong with anything on this list.  This browned butter sauce could be good on any white fish.  And the roasted broccoli, fantastic!  Alton Brown knows what he’s doing.

Sweet Apple Pizza

Sweet apple pizza and a garden salad.  While I was clipping coupons I found this recipe in an Al Fresco Chicken Sausage add.  It’s very similar to the fennel chicken sausage pizza I made before.  It’s really good, but I probably wouldn’t make it again.  It seems there are better things to do with brie cheese instead of this.
