This wasn’t an exact recipe I followed, but more of a guide. I had soba noodles I needed to use up and didn’t have the ingredients for all the cool recipes I found. However, you can never go wrong with a simple stir-fry with a bunch of veggies. I even used my mandolin slicer to cut the matchstick cut carrots. That tool is sweet!
Turkey, sweet potato, and bean chili with a side salad. I successfully made it a week without cooking a real meal. And now with the holidays over and everyone back to the grind, I started to start easy with this chili recipe. This was perfect for a cold winter day. And had great flavor between all the seasonings and the sweet potato. We liked this one a lot.
We met some good friends for dinner at Cherry Blossom, one of our favorite Japanese restaurants. We had a smorgasbord of food including sushi, tempura, salmon head (I called it fish face), garlic, and other Japanese vegetables. Good food, and good times.
Pomegranate, pear, and mozzarella cheese salad, butternut squash ravioli, and bread with avocado spread, and olive spread. It’s been my goal this week to barely do any cooking. Luckily we had this awesome lunch at a friend’s house this afternoon that was so good and filling that I didn’t need to make dinner. Maybe I can get invited to lunch somewhere tomorrow?
To contrast the big heavy meal of Polish sausage, sauerkraut, and stuffed cabbage on Christmas Eve, my mom makes a tea time inspired brunch. Even though there were no homemade scones this year, it was still awesome. We had a broccoli egg frittata, blueberry ebelskevers, fruit salad, blue berry bread, cinnamon bread, breakfast sausage links, homemade cranberry relish, and mini turkey, roast beef, and ham sandwiches. Always a GREAT meal!
